Many people believe erectile dysfunction or impotence is just the inability to get an erection. Some think it is the lack of sexual desire and some think it is the inability to sustain an erection for a considerable amount of time.

These views are true about erectile dysfunction; however, I think you suffer from sexual dysfunction when your sexual organs do not align with your sexual desires or wishes.

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get an erection and keep an erection firm enough to have sexual intercourse. Also, erectile dysfunction includes premature ejaculation, low libido, and inability to achieve orgasm. Every man will suffer erectile dysfunction at a time in their life, which means erectile dysfunction is part of the sexual history of men, but it becomes worrisome when it goes on for a prolonged time.

Some types of erectile dysfunction can be caused by over-excitement (which most times happen to people new to sex or with a new sexual partner), stress, relationship troubles, etc. These types of erectile dysfunction are short-lived and can be addressed simply by solving the problem that caused it, for example, people get better at having sexual intercourse when they have more sex and when they get used to their partner.

What are the causes of erectile dysfunction?

A lot of people ask this question because they believe they are doing fine health-wise and shouldn’t have any problem ‘getting it up’. 6 Signs You Are Suffering From Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction leads to low self-esteem, unsatisfactory sex life, unhappy sexual partner, loss of interest in sex, stress, fear of having sexual intercourse, etc. So how can you become so sure you are suffering from erectile dysfunction? The following are the signs that show you are suffering from erectile dysfunction:

1. Difficulty in achieving an erection

This is the biggest out of all the signs of erectile dysfunction. An erection must happen before a man can engage in sexual intercourse, therefore if there is no erection, sexual intercourse cannot take place.

2. Inability to sustain an erection

A lot of men can get an erection anytime they are sexually stimulated and are ready to have sexual intercourse; however, they face an uphill task trying to keep that erection for a desired duration of time. Some men will lose their erection right before penetration or during sexual intercourse. The Inability to maintain a hard erection to the point of orgasm is a sign of erectile dysfunction.

3. Low Sex Drive

If you have lost interest in having sex with your partner or if you notice a drastic reduction in your sex drive, then you are suffering or may suffer from erectile dysfunction.

4. Painful Sex

Sex is meant to be enjoyed and not endured. If you experience pain in your sexual organs during sex, then there is the problem you need to address as soon as possible. It could be a sign of sexual dysfunction.

5. Soft Erection

When a man’s penis is not hard enough, penetration becomes difficult, and if penetration is achieved, sexual intercourse becomes clumsy and unenjoyable.

6. Unwanted erection

This sounds like a good thing but it isn’t a good thing. When a man’s penis gets erect for no reason and without any stimulus it could be a sign of erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction can be treated permanently; the solution could be just a change in lifestyle or more exercise; however, the best thing to do is to consult a sexual health specialist who will listen to you and tell you what you need to do. Good Luck!
